Student Leadership & Service

Jefferson empowers students to lead, serve, and make a positive impact. Through leadership programs and service opportunities, Panthers build confidence, responsibility, teamwork, and school pride.

School Safety Patrol

The School Safety Patrol is a leadership program for 5th grade students that promotes responsibility, teamwork, and service. Safety Patrol members help keep students safe before and after school while developing confidence and leadership skills.

Jefferson’s Associated Student Body (ASB)

Jefferson's Associated Student Body (ASB) is made up of elected 4th and 5th grade student leaders who represent their classmates and help shape school life. ASB plans spirit days, assemblies, and other school activities while developing leadership, responsibility, and teamwork.

Panther News Network

Panther News Network is Jefferson's student-run broadcasting club, where students create and produce school news, announcements, and special features while building confidence, teamwork, and media production skills.

After-School Programming

Whether students are exploring a new hobby, participating in an enrichment club, or attending after-school childcare, Jefferson offers a variety of programs that support learning, connection, and fun beyond the school day.

Before & After-School Childcare

Jefferson offers two on-campus childcare options to support working families: SAY San Diego and PrimeTime. These before- and after-school programs provide a safe, supportive space for students beyond the school day.

Free After-School Clubs

Our free after-school clubs showcase the talents of the Jefferson community. Parent volunteers lead a variety of engaging clubs throughout the year, giving students opportunities to learn, create, and have fun.

Fee-Based Clubs

In addition to our free after-school clubs, Jefferson also offers a variety of fee-based after-school clubs led by trusted community partners. These optional programs give students the opportunity to explore new interests, build skills, and have fun beyond the school day.
