Jefferson Families Playdate
Join new and returning Jefferson families for a fun morning at the Nature Exploration Area in Morley Field! Meet us between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. for this casual playdate where kids can make new friends, reconnect with classmates, and enjoy some outdoor play while families build connections before the school year begins.
First Day of School
The first day of school is an exciting time for students, families, and staff as we come together to begin a new year at Jefferson. We look forward to welcoming both new and returning Panthers and starting another year of learning, growth, and community.
Boo Hoo Breakfast for TK/Kinder parents
After dropping off your new TK or Kindergarten student on the first day of school, join other parents in the Jefferson Garden for coffee, donuts, and conversation. Whether there are happy tears or a few "boo hoos," it's a great chance to connect with other families and celebrate this exciting milestone together.
Back to School Night/Curriculum Night
Join us for Back-to-School Night, where parents and caregivers can meet their child’s teacher, learn about classroom expectations, and get a preview of the exciting year ahead. This is an adults-only event—please, no children.
FOJ Welcome Back Meet & Greet Movie Night
Join us on the Joint Use Field for a family-friendly movie night under the stars! Bring your blankets and chairs, grab some snacks from the concession stand, and enjoy an evening with the Jefferson community. All concession proceeds support the 5th Grade End-of-Year Celebration Fund.

First Week of After-School Clubs (8 week session)
Jefferson's 8-week after-school club session begins! Students can explore new interests, build skills, and have fun through a variety of enrichment programs.
STEAM Night
Come enjoy a fun night of hands-on STEAM activities with your family! Explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math through creative and interactive experiences designed to inspire curiosity and learning.

Halloween Costume Parade
One of Jefferson’s most spirited traditions, the Halloween Costume Parade is the one day a year when superheroes, princesses, dinosaurs, and mystery creatures all show up to school at the same time. Students and staff parade around the Joint Use Field showing off their creative costumes while families cheer them on in this fun and festive celebration.
Jog-A-Thon
Lace up and get ready to run! Jefferson’s annual Jog-a-thon is our biggest fundraiser of the year, combining fitness, fun, and Panther pride to raise money for the programs and events that enrich every student’s experience. The full event schedule and grade-level run times will be announced closer to the event.

Scholastic Book Fair
Shop the Scholastic Book Fair during Parent-Teacher Conference Week! Browse a great selection of books while supporting Jefferson, as every purchase helps provide books and resources for our school. It's the perfect opportunity to inspire a love of reading and stock up on new favorites.

Holiday Performance
One of Jefferson's most cherished traditions, the Holiday Performance brings students to the historic Observatory Theater in North Park for an unforgettable evening of singing, dancing, and celebration. It's a special opportunity for our students to shine on stage while bringing the Jefferson community together for the holiday season.

Love of Reading Week
Celebrate the joy of reading during Jefferson's Love of Reading Week! Students will enjoy fun daily themes, special activities, and plenty of opportunities to share their love of books. Watch for more details and the daily theme schedule as the week approaches.

Jefferson Talent Show
Celebrate the amazing talents of our Jefferson students! From music and dance to comedy, magic, and more, the annual Talent Show is a fun-filled evening showcasing the creativity, confidence, and unique abilities of our Panthers.
Children's Day Celebration
Children’s Day is a joyful celebration of the diversity, cultures, and community that make Jefferson so special. Families can explore booths hosted by Jefferson families, collect stamps in their passport, and enjoy student performances and grade-level dances led by Ms. Cybele. This free event is a favorite Jefferson tradition celebrating connection, heritage, and community.

Spring Exhibition / Open House
Celebrate a year of learning at Jefferson's Spring Exhibition & Open House! Explore student artwork, classroom projects, and special showcases, including 3rd grade inventions and the inspiring 5th grade IB Exhibition projects. It's a wonderful opportunity to see our students' creativity, curiosity, and hard work on display.

Salsa Fest
North Park Salsa Fest is back on Saturday, May 1, 2027. Local restaurants and vendors will compete to earn bragging rights for “Best Salsa.” Join us at North Park Mini Park for salsa tasting, food trucks, and craft beer and other beverages from local breweries and vendors.

Field Day
Get ready for one of Jefferson’s most exciting days of the year! Field Day is a fun-filled day of obstacle races, tug-a-war, ball throwing, water bucket filling challenges, and more. Students come together for a day of teamwork, friendly competition, and Panther spirit as we celebrate the end of another great school year.
5th Grade Promotion
Held at the historic North Park Observatory Theater, Jefferson's 5th Grade Promotion celebrates our graduating students as they complete their elementary school journey and prepare for middle school. Families, teachers, and friends gather to honor their achievements, reflect on their time at Jefferson, and celebrate this exciting milestone.
